Event Details

Visit Rajasthan - known as the "the land of kings" - the largest state on the northwest of India. It is believed that the Roma, or Gypsies, originally migrated from this area. It is filled with colors, music, dance, gems, multiple forts of maharajahs and of course the Great Thar Desert.

 

Experience Pushkar Camel Fair - one of the largest cattle fairs in the world.  People from rural India flock to Pushkar bringing 20 000 camels and other cattle to trade. Apart from buying and selling of livestock, there are lots of competitions such as "longest moustache""bridal competition", camel races, camel decorations. There will be snake charmers, musicians and dance performers.

Thu Nov 7 Arrival to New Delhi – airport pick up – hotel check in. Evening walk in Paharganj. Paharganj - is a neighborhood of Central Delhi, located just west of the New Delhi Railway Station. This area is known for its concentration of affordable hotels, lodges, restaurants and a wide variety of shops catering to both domestic travelers and foreign tourists.

 

 

 

 

Fri Nov 8 – Guided tour of New Delhi in a private car with an English speaking local guide and Western Group leader Note: Each site takes at least 1 hour and getting from site to site takes time in heavy New Delhi traffic. So visit to 3 major sites + lunch will take up all day. If there is more time we will visit museum of Indian art

 

You will visit the following sites: Humayun tomb - UNESCO World Heritage Site Swaminarayan Akshardham - world's largest Hindu complex. It showcases Hinduism's ancient art, culture and spiritual heritage.  Qutub Minar - the tallest minaret in India built in 12th century to commemorate the victory of Islam over the last Hindu kingdom. 

 

We believe that Red Fort is not interesting; instead we will visit Agra Fort in Agra which is much better. We will take a night train to Agra.

 

Hotel check in in Agra.

 

 

Sat Nov 9 – Rooftop breakfast  with a view of Taj Mahal at sunrise. Visiting Taj Mahal and its surroundings. Lunch in Taj Ganj  area. Visit to Agra Fort and  Kinari Bazaar (old city). Departure by train to Udaipur at 17.40. Dinner in the train

 

 

Sun Nov 10 – Arrival to Udaipur - the most romantic city of India, where one of the James Bond movie was filmed. Taxi pick-up and hotel check-in, breakfast.Visit to the majestic white City Palace located in the heart of Udaipur. The Palace showcases the finest elements of Rajput culture and the arts. Lunch in the city. Option 1: Indian Dance Class. Option 2: Indian Cooking Class. Option 3: Free time, shopping. Rajastahani dance performance. Dinner

 

 

Mon Nov 11 – Udaipur. Breakfast. Exploring the old city of Udaipur with its temples and havelis  (mansions). Lunch.  Boat ride on Lake Pichola with  view on Lake Palace - the best example of delicate architecture and refined culture.

 

Departure to Ajmer by train. Transfer to Pushkar.

 

 

Tue  Nov 12  – Pushkar Camel Fair. Breakfast. Walking and watching spectacular Fair with bedecked Camels, decorated cattles, adventure competitions, breathtaking events, jostling rustic crowd, meditating sadhus, holy dip, vivid stalls, exotic fair, colorful desert. An amalgamation of a marvelous juxtaposition of commerce and devotion, Pushkar Fair, a lifetime experience in this Holy Land. Night in hotel.

 

 

Wed Nov 13 - Pushkar Camel Fair.

 

 With the picturesque sand dunes as its backdrop, the camel fair and camel, horse and donkey races are the featured events of the fair. People indulge themselves in body tattooing as the villagers from distant places come here to trade their wares. The fair is a gala occasion full of music and dance, fun and frolic, echoing songs in the desert land and colorful costumes of the performers.

 

 

Thu Nov 14 - Pushkar Camel Fair.

 

 

(Option 1) Fri Nov 15 –Arrival to New Dehli. Bike tour and walk in Old city.

 

Sat Nov 16: Shopping, Free time: Departure to USA.

Fri Nov 15 Jodhpur - the Blue City. Breakfast and transfer to Jodhpur. Hotel check in and lunch. Guided tour in the old city. Jodhpur is known as the Blue City because most of the houses in the old city are colored in shades of blue. Visit to Meherangarh Fort with its enormous gateways, palaces and museums. Located at the top of the hill and reached by quite a climb, it offers breath-taking view over the blue city. Enclosed by thick walls there are amazing palaces within the fort, including the Pearl Palace (Moti Mahal), the Hall Of Mirrors (Sheesh Mahal), the Palace Of Flowers (Phool Mahal) or the Maharaja Takhat Singh’s Chamber. Jodhpur is also known for its splendor, traditions and culture. The various forts, palaces and monuments of the city talk a lot about the rich past of the city.

 

 

Sat  Nov 16 -Bishnoi Village tour located about 22 K.M. from Jodhpur.

 

Bishnoi Village for experiencing Bishnoi culture and village is famous for true love to nature and animals, where you can spot wild life like black bucks, chinkara, blue bulls, desert foxes, partridges, peacocks, and can also have an opportunity to see the bishnoi families & meet village people. Visitors can enjoy view of thousands of migratory, demoiselle cranes, guda lake and nearby places. Visitors can see the weavers, potters and block printers on their work.Departure to Jaisalmer.

 

 

Sun Nov 17 - Jaisalmer -the Golden City. Breakfast. Guided tour in Jaisalmer fort - giant sandcastle with a town attached, an emblem of honour in a land of rough and tumble. The fort is a living monument to long-lost desert might, a Golden City of dreams that exceeds expectations. Like a Hansel and Gretel wonderland, the enclosed palace is carved from the same near-edible golden sandstone.

 

 

 

Mon Nov 18 - Camel Safari - day1. Safari through the golden sands of the vast Thar desert and untamed countryside, enabling one to experience the days gone by when time drifted at a leisurely pace. The rolling landscape of the sand & shrub covered area is breathtakingly beautiful and the range of flora and fauna surprisingly large for a desert area.Camping out at night.

 

 

Tue  Nov 19 - Camel Safari - day2. Return on camels to Jaisalmer. Lunch. Night train to Jaipur.

 

 

Wed  Nov 20  – Jaipur- the Pink City - shopping Paradise.

 

Arrival to Jaipur. Hotel check in. Breakfast. Gem stones and jewlery shopping. Jaipur is famous for jewellery, textiles and saris, good made of marble, wood, stone, lac, clay, metal and leather. The city has been a traditional centre of the finest of jewellery bedecked with both precious and semi precious stones, enamelling of gold in green, red and white, the favourite colours of the Mughals, which was introduced Raja Man Singh. The city is known the world over for diamond and emerald cutting. Departure by train to New Delhi.

 

 

Thu Nov 21 – New Delhi. Depart to USA

 

Varanasi 3 days option:

 

Day 1 – New Delhi – Varanasi morning flight. Hotel check in. Free time – exploring the city.  
Day 2 - Visit to Sarnath, place where Buddha gave his first teachings. Visit to the Dhamek Stupa that  marks the place of the 1st "Dharma wheel turn". The stupa is built partly of stone and partly of brick. The stone facing the lower part is embellished with exquisite floral carvings in Gupta style. Visit to Buddhist monasteries of different countries and traditions. Lunch. Return to Varansi. Walk in Varanasi - religious capital of India, situated on the banks of the holy river Ganges. It is the heart of India and an epitome of the synthesis of cultures, religions and races. Dinner.

Day 3 Varanasi Early Breakfast. Sunrise Boat trip at Ganges river. Visit to Hanuman Temple and silk factory. Lunch . Departure to New Delhi ( 3:30p.m.)
