En Foco Presents: An Edit Your Portfolio Workshop

En Foco is pleased to offer its Edit Your Portfolio Workshop, a two-hour workshop for emerging photographers with Dee Campos. This workshop is filled with tips on how to build a strong and cohesive body of work, followed by an interactive group critique and discussion of sample portfolios.
Participants are encouraged to bring a work-in-progress portfolio or some of their prints. Topics covered include the importance of image quality and consistency of images, tips on how to write a strong artist statement, and portfolio presentation.
PLEASE BRING YOUR PORTFOLIO WITH YOU. The course is limited to 15 participants so each person gets the most benefit.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dee Campos is the coordinator for the Teen Academy at the International Center of Photography, and En Foco’s former Program Assistant. She received a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Humboldt State University in 2008, and a Master of Fine Arts in photography at Pratt Institute in 2010. She worked at First Street Gallery in Eureka, CA, assisting in curating and installing exhibitions, joining En Foco as a Curatorial Intern in 2008, before becoming its Program Assistant in September 2010. Dee has also been a Teaching Assistant for Undergraduate and Graduate level photography courses at Humboldt State University and Pratt Institute, developed the Editing your Portfolio workshop for En Foco, and still holds curatorial responsibilities with En Foco's Touring Gallery program.
ABOUT THE BRONX DOCUMENTARY CENTER (BDC): Founded in 2011, the Bronx Documentary Center (BDC) is a non-profit gallery and educational space devoted to documentary projects from around the globe. Located on the ground floor of a recently revitalized building in the South Bronx, the BDC aims to create an engaging environment for local and international photojournalists, artists, filmmakers, critics and educators committed to innovative methods of non-fiction storytelling.
