Event description

Description

The OAKWAY EMS Coordinators in concert with St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, Stryker Medical and J & B Medical Supply are proud to present the 2018 EMS Week Education Spectacular.

This year's presenters and topics include Capt. Jeff Dill (Ret.), founder of the Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance, presenting "Saving Those Who Save Others". This presentation will examine suicides in public safety, PTSD, addictions and other behavioral health issues.

Orlando Blanco will be discussing various Medical/Legal topics such as living wills, the various powers of attorney, DNRs and all of those pesky other pieces of paperwork you may be presented with.

Our final presenter is Jon Seiverth, from the City of Perrysburg Fire Division in Ohio, and his "Thinking Outside the Box with Capnography". This session will help you bring your assessment skills to a whole new level by discussing the use of invasive and non-invasive monitoring.

EMS CE credits have been applied for at all levels and nursing credits are being pursued by St. Joe's. (Presenters are subject to change). A lunch break (but not lunch) will be provided so you can enjoy the hospital's fine dining or one of the local restaurants.
