Workshop Purpose: The purpose of this workshop is to supply information and resources to workshop participants in an interactive format. The information will assist new EMS service directors in providing administrative oversight to their EMS program.

Workshop Objectives:

• Describe the roles and responsibilities of the Iowa Department of Public Health regarding EMS
• Share some best practices
• Review the roles, responsibilities, & duties of the Service Director for an Iowa authorized EMS program as defined in Iowa Code Chapter 147A and Iowa Administrative Code (IAC) Section 641 Chapters 132 & 144
• List the resources available to assist the EMS Service Director with managing/oversight of their respective system to maintain authorization
• Review the AMANDA registry system operation
• Review the Image Trend Elite data system
• Apply knowledge & information to given scenarios
