Description

Overview: The Empty Bowl Luncheon is an annual joint fundraiser for both the Golden Harvest Food Bank and the Augusta Jewish Community Center, two very worthwhile causes. The two organizations have spearheaded this event which involves the entire community: students, teachers, restaurants, caterers, groceries, businesses and artists, all with one goal in mind, Ending Hunger Together.” Empty Bowl provides an enjoyable Sunday Brunch or Lunch for families and individuals where guests enjoy a wonderful “all you can eat” soup kitchen style buffet consisting of a wide variety of soups, breads, and desserts: all donated by the CRSA’s best restaurants, caterers, and groceries. It is an informal and fun event for the entire family and includes special programming for children. This is the 19th annual Empty Bowl event and this year will be better than ever!

WHEN: Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • FOOD: Enjoy a delicious brunch or lunch, sampling foods from the area’s finest restaurants, bakeries, and caterers, including “kid friendly” foods: Hot dogs, mac & cheese and banana pudding

HOW:

  • TICKETS: Adults: $25.00 Children ages 2-10: $10.00

These are presale ticket prices. Tickets at the door will be $30.00 and $15.00…so buy your tickets early! No charge for infants and toddlers 2 and under. Every ticket holder will take home a handmade ceramic bowl (made by local students and artists). Additional bowls may be purchased in the “bowl room” for $5.00 each.

  • SILENT AUCTION: 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Bid on items contributed by area merchants, potters and artists. It’s a fabulous sale! There will be some great trips, too! There will be a “buy it now” price as well.
  • BENEFITS: You are supporting two great organizations:

1) GHFB - which distributes approximately 17.4 million pounds of grocery products annually to those in need of assistance through over 300 partner agencies and direct service programs in 30 counties in Georgia and S. Carolina.

2) The AJCC - which provides educational, social and cultural programming for children,

adults and seniors, food for those in need, academic scholarships and an award winning

summer camp serving children in the entire CSRA.

  • RAFFLE: You “Can” Help! For each can of food you bring, you will receive one raffle ticket. Bring 5 cans; get 1 ticket! GREAT PRIZE-A BICYCLE!! (donated by Chain Reaction Bicycles). Raffle tickets may be purchased for $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00
  • AWESOME KIDS’ ACTIVITIES: Storyteller, facepainting, balloons
