Event description

Description

Our goal is to develop “Ideal Villages” where the essential needs of rural communities in Water, Healthcare, Education, Energy, Sustained Livelihoods, & Sanitation are fulfilled thru the application of affordable and effective solutions - giving due consideration to eco-sustainability and self-reliance and with the active involvement of local community stakeholders. Success of this Ideal Village concept should eventually lead to better rural health, more viable rural economies, less migration to urban areas, a reduction in poverty and global inequities. Silicon Valley can help make this a reality, given its unique blend of talent, resources, innovation culture, and concern for global well being. Step by step, steady progress can occur over time to create these Ideal Villages ."When the power of love exceeds the love of power, the entire world can become an Ideal Village"

The annual Ideal Village conference at Stanford serves as a collaboration forum for global participants to network, to share results and interact on needs, learn about tech solutions and best practices, and seek funding support. The last two Ideal Village conferences focused on Innovation in 2016, and, Collaboration in 2017.

This 3rd Ideal Village Conference at Stanford on June 26, 2018 will focus on Empowerment of Women

Scope - Review Pilot Programs, Discuss Success Stories & Learnings, and Launch outcome driven action plans.
