Event description

Description

Rayya Ghul is an experienced solution focused practitioner with a background in mental health, having worked in community mental health, in-patient and forensic services in the UK. These days she is more interested in sharing her skills with people with lived experience for use in peer support and has been working with Take Off, a service-user led charity in Kent providing a wide range of peer support services. At the workshop Rayya will introduce the solution focused approach to conversations that create change and talk about the work of Take Off.

Lunch and refreshments are provided.

At each Peer Collaborative event we will focus on one of the Peer Work values. At this event we will be looking at Empowerment.

This event is for peer workers, peer volunteers and other mental health professionals, volunteers and members of the public to get together in order to shape and support peer work in Edinburgh.

The aim of the Peer Collaborative Partnership is to deliver peer support by paid/unpaid peer workers across the four localities of Edinburgh, and to create a network of support for paid/ unpaid and formal/ informal peer work which provides opportunities for training, peer volunteering, development and career progression.
