“If a woman wants to be independent, first she needs an education, second she needs a skill, and then she needs to make money. For many Afghan women, access to computers and proper training can give them all three, empowering them in the workplace and at home.”
—Roya Mahboob, CEO & founder of Afghan Citadel Software Company, co-founder of Women’s Annex Web TV and the Digital Citizen Fund
Join Sahar for dinner on October 27th to help us launch a new program to teach Afghan girls computer programming. This new coding project will open the path to entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic empowerment to more Afghan women.
Sahar partners with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Education and locally-based organizations to empower Afghan women through education. We currently educate more than 20,000 girls in 13 schools throughout Afghanistan and 1,500 girls in our three computer centers. With your help, we will launch a pilot coding project next year.
We believe that a strong foundation in digital literacy is essential to social advancement for women. Please register by October 14th to join us for dinner and build an inclusive, prosperous Afghanistan for men and women.
