What Does it Mean to be Vulnerable? Krista Williams & Lindsey Simcik, Almost 30 Podcast

Starting out 3 years ago recording on their closet floors, Krista and Lindsey have grown the Almost 30 Podcast to rank in the top 50 on the Podcast charts in the world - all by being authentic and vulnerable with their audience. In this raw, yet actionable and digestible session, they will dive into their journey learning their voice, and how they've leveraged authencity and vulnerability to change the lives their lives, and the lives of their audience.

How Long-Form Conversation Became My Meditation and How it Can be Yours Too: Katie Dalebout

The goal of most meditative practices is presence. On yoga mats and meditation cushions, we set ourselves up to face ourselves head on, however mindfulness is available elsewhere. It doesn’t require stretchy pants or sage but merely awareness. The place I’ve most often experienced presence has been recording my conversations. Long-form distraction-less conversation is an art and unfortunately a rarity--often we’re interrupted by technology or strapped for time. Getting lost in a deep conversation is a rarity for many of us outside of therapy. We have become so accustomed to small talk that we’re starved for conversation intimacy where we actually can feel seen and heard. I believe this directly relates to the popularity of podcasts, instead of having our own deep conversations we’ll settle to eavesdrop on other people sharing their feelings and opinions. Starting my own podcast became my weekly exercise in presence, for that hour and a half I wasn’t on my phone, zoning out, or interrupted, instead I was calm, focused, and listening. This session will explore how conversation became my art, my meditation, and my networking. Also, how podcasting and interviewing made me a better conversationalist and person in my non recorded life. In late 2012 I decided to start a podcast out of my loneliness and desire to connect--turns out it worked. It was the best thing I've ever done not only for my mental health but for my career. On a practical level this session will outline how to cultivate organic conversation, presence when interviewing, listening, going deep, preparation, curating guest, and research and preparation pre-interview.

Staying Balanced in Your Business: Davia Roberts

Struggling to balance your personal wellness as you build your business? You're not alone. The demands of entrepreneurship can lead to burnout, depression, and anxiety. Instead of running from reality, let's explore these unique challenges and identify how to conquer them with practical tips and resources... Remember, when your wellbeing thrives, so does your business.

Creating A Brand That Resonates Without Breaking The Bank: Allie Lehman

The strongest brands can be built with the tightest constraints (aka, a limited amount of extra cash). Think: forced prioritization, simplification, thoughtfulness, and creativity – all on a tight budget. In this session, we'll discuss how to find inspiration, identifying your preferences, designing things with free design software and rolling it out into the world.

If Cauliflower Can Be Anything, You Can Be You: Talia Pollock

Cauliflower is having a moment -- and so is authenticity. Yes, authenticity might be the new brand standard, but yes, it’s scary and hard to be real. It’s confusing and challenging to be a person who does things differently; who chooses to be a pizza instead of a roasted floret. This program will push you towards figuring out what your own personal brand looks like, or your personal pizza pie, if you will. With techniques for building unwavering confidence, strategies for seeing differences as superpowers and inspiration to truly start “owning” your thang right now, you’ll leave feeling more excited to embrace - rather than want to erase - your quirks.

Live, Work, Thrive: How to Build (And Love) A Lasting Brand: Katie Horwitch

Strategy doesn’t have to come at the expense of soul, and vice versa. But more often than not, creatives will sacrifice one for the other - and then wonder why they’re burnt out, feeling like a fraud, or not seeing traction.

In this in-depth, hands-on brand strategy session, you’ll learn how to build a meaningful brand that’s trend-proof and structured to stand the test of time. Walk away knowing how to structure your brand’s umbrella, consistently and authentically live your brand online and off, and create the kind of clarity for both you and your audience that is essential to building a long-lasting career out of whatever it is you love.

How to Legally Protect & Grow Your Wellness Business: Sam Vander Wielen

In this workshop-style session, Sam -- an attorney-turned-entrepreneur who helps women legally protect and grow their online businesses through her DIY legal templates and trainings -- will teach you step-by-step how to legally protect yourself while building your brand. She'll cover how to protect your content and products from copycat thieves, how to register and legitimize your business, the things you've got to know to safely work with clients online, and how to protect your website.

Demystifying the Podcast Experience: Cody Boyce

From his experience of launching 200 podcasts, Cody D Boyce (CEO, Crate Media) will share clear instructions on how to turn your concept for a show into a reality. With straight talking advice on equipment, recording best practices, SEO, metadata, and publishing, you will leave this session feeling empowered to launch your podcast. Cody will also leave time for Q&A for any attendees who already have a podcast but may be struggling with growth, optimization, or monetization.
