Fri, Apr 7, 2017, 9:00 AM – Sat, Apr 8, 2017, 5:00 PM CDT
The Empowered To Connect Conference is a two-day conference for adoptive and foster parents, ministry leaders, and professionals designed to help them connect with children from hard places in order to help them heal and become all that God desires for them to be. Led by Dr. Karyn Purvis (Director of the TCU Institute of Child Development), this conference is ideal for adoptive and foster parents, those considering adoption or foster care, and those who are serving and supporting others, including social workers, agency professionals, church staff and ministry leaders, counselors, therapists, family members and all others involved in adoption and foster care ministries or services. Conference sessions will be held from 9am-5pm on both days. Light refreshments will be provided during breaks throughout the event, with “on your own” lunch breaks scheduled from 12-1:30pm. All participants are highly encouraged to attend sessions on both days.
Continuing education credits from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) may be offered to professionals for all conference learning sessions. In order to receive CE Credits:
- To streamline the process for all professionals, all individuals pursuing CE credit must register at etccontinuingeducation.eventbrite.com in addition to the simulcast event registration
- After completing CE registration, professionals will be emailed a badge that includes a code that will be scanned when entering and leaving the conference to track attendance
- CEC certificates will be emailed to registered professionals within 2 weeks of the event.
The 2016 Empowered to Connect conference is approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval #886649357-2610) for 11 Social Work continuing education contact hours. Licensed Professionals in other careers will be provided with a sheet to submit to their licensing board for potential credit. *PLEASE BE ADVISED: CE credits are for licensed professionals only and are not the same as adoptive/foster training credits.
