Description

Instructor Christopher J. Lyon, Esq., with Astrachan Gunst Thomas, P.C., will provide an overview of laws governing the workplace. Participants will learn about wage laws, anti-discrimination laws and work-leave laws.

This course will cover the basics of several laws that all employers should be aware of, including:

the Fair Labor Standards Act;

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; and

The Americans with Disabilities Act.

Participants will leave the course with a solid understanding of their legally required responsibilities as an employer.

There is no fee for this class, but advance registration is required.

Christopher Lyon is a principal with the law firm of Astrachan Gunst Thomas, P.C. in Baltimore. He counsels businesses on matters ranging from commercial disputes to the protection of intellectual property. He also advises companies on legal issues that arise out of the employer-employee relationship.
