Event Details

Arrive 9.00-9.30am ready for a 9.30am start. Bring your own lunch. Liquid refreshments are provided, but please bring a travel mug to reduce the use of disposable cardboard cups if possible.

This one day training is targeted at Attachment aware schools and school staff supporting vulnerable* pupils. 

*Vulnerable means those that are at higher risk of developing mental health concerns in later years. This might mean special educational needs, children in care or risk of exclusion from school, pupils with a parent with mental illness or substance misuse, children with a trauma or abuse history, child with physical disability or young carer and more...

Aims of the training:

  • Consider what makes children and young people vulnerable
  • Explain emotion coaching (EC)
  • Provide an overview of neurodevelopment in children
  • Explain emotion coaching and link to building resilience
  • Demonstrate "Flipping the lid"  
  • Explain the 5 steps of emotion coaching
  • Involve activities using emotion coaching
  • Provide the presentation materials for your workshop
  • Certificate of attendance

Independent Child & Adolescent Mental Health Practitioners/Therapeutic Social Workers

Useful Information:

Arrive shortly after 9.00am for a 9.30am start, aim to finish by 3.30pm. Refreshments will be provided. Lunch is 'bring your own', there are shops nearby in the town. Plenty of free parking on site but if the car park is full there is a leisure centre a little further down the road that you can use. If you get lost trying to find the venue please call Rugeley Community Centre: 01889 579341.

The venue is a short walk from Rugeley train station.

 

Terms and Conditions:

Attendance is free for schools that are currently signed up to the HOPE Project. If you need to cancel your ticket you can do so by returning to this event and deleting your ticket yourself. For those attending - you do NOT need to print the ticket. 

Please book early to avoid disappointment.

We have a limited fund to cover the cost of this training and workshops. Although it's free to attend, there is a cost if you do not show up. 

A charge of £50 will be made for non-attendence or cancellation less than 5 working days ahead of the event.
