Mike Brown will speak at UC Berkeley on April 11, 2023 on the emerging security challenges that the United States faces in the Indo-Pacific and the role of technological innovation in strategic competition. His remarks will expand on his recent article in Foreign Affairs, “Taiwan’s Urgent Task: A Radical New Strategy to Keep China Away,” as well as his paper with Pavneet Singh and RADM Lorin Selby, “A Hedge Strategy to Strengthen Defense Capabilities.” The event will feature an audience Q&A.

Mike Brown is a Venture Partner at Shield Capital, a Visiting Scholar at the Hoover Institution and the Former Director of the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) at U.S. Department of Defense.
