Winners of the Art Glass Forum | New York's 2022 Emerging Scholars event will present fascinating lectures via Zoom on topics spanning continents and centuries.
Susan Kinsey, who recently received her M.A. degree from Parsons School of Design in conjunction with the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, will explore innovative compressed-air molding techniques and motifs developed for French crystal tableware in the early 1800s.
Ali Wysopal, who holds an M.S. in Historic Preservation from the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture and is completing a fellowship focused on stained-glass window conservation at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, will delve into repair strategies for a cemetery memorial window attributed to Tiffany Studios and badly damaged by vandalism.
Annika Blake-Howland, who is earning an M.A. in art conservation at SUNY Buffalo State College and interning at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Objects Conservation Department, will present discoveries about early 20th-century vases with bird motifs designed by French glass artist René Lalique and American industrial designer Reuben Haley.
