Description

United Way's Emerging Leaders United (ELU) & Repair the World Baltimore Hands-On Happy Hour

Hang out with Emerging Leaders United (ELU) and Repair The World: Baltimore while doing a hands-on service project from 10am - 1pm at the Baltimore Collaborative Warehouse and then head down the road for some R&R (reflect & recharge) at the happy-hour from 1pm - 2pm at the super hip Union Craft Brewing taproom (1700 W 41st St #420, Baltimore, MD 21211).

For this event, we’ll be ringing in the new year with making change in our community by assisting (4) awesome local non-profits - Baltimore Teacher Supply Swap, MD Book Bank, Bedtime in a Box, and Leveling the Playing Field - with the following activities in their co-op space:

  • Baltimore Teacher Supply Swap: Organizing donations and stocking shelves; potentially running the cash register for clients
  • MD Book Bank: Organizing and stocking bookshelves
  • Bedtime in a Box: Packing the bedtime in a box kits
  • Leveling the Playing Field: Sorting and organizing sports equipment

Come out of hibernation for an epic Saturday with your friends! After a fulfilling morning of volunteering, we'll let loose at Union Collective (and Hampden) to shake off those winter blues.

Parking: The Baltimore Collaborative Warehouse has a parking lot on the North end of the building. Please do not to park beyond the chain link fence in AA signs parking lot. There will be volunteers to guide you on the day of. The Union Craft Brewing has plenty of free parking also.

Dress: Comfortably.

We are excited to partner on this ELU event with Repair the World Baltimore who works to engage 20s and 30s in the Baltimore community in hands on volunteering and learning about social justice issues. They work closely with local nonprofits to create service and educational projects to empower both the communities they serve, as well as the volunteers who work with us; such as regular direct service, ongoing opportunities to volunteer as a team, socially conscious happy hours, and more! Repair the World strongly believes that service is a key pillar of everyday life – if you are interested in making it a part of your life, check out their website to get involved.
