MEA (The MidAtlantic Employers Association), has created the "Emerging Leadership Advantage Certification Series". This cohort 6-part series focuses upon the critical leadership skills needed as a Manager or Supervisor.

6 Workshops | September 6 through November 15 | East Norriton, PA | Coaching Included | Credits: HRCI - 28 / SHRM - 28/ CPE - 32 / CEU - 3.2 | Upon Successful Completion Participants Receive an MEA authorized Certification stating that they have Successfully Completed the Series

Workshops Within the Series Are (Click on the Sessions Name to Learn More):

September 6th - Successful Communication (9 am - 4 pm) Learn how to control your message with clear communication strategies. You'll learn how to recognize communication barriers, assess styles and behaviors, and learn how to listen more effectively as well. Effective communication skills are so crucial to successful management that we make participants take this as the first course within this program.

September 20th - Management Fundamentals (9 am - 4 pm) This one-day workshop assists new supervisors as they transition from their role as a worker, to supervising former peers. Participants will learn the techniques for successful delegation and discuss the roles and responsibility of supervisors.

October 4th - Basics of Employment Law for Non-HR Professionals (9 am - 1 pm) Participants will learn the basics of employment law and how they affect employment best practices, including the interview process. They will learn techniques to help control interviews and even discover how to uncover the hidden talents of employees.

October 11th - Managing People through Motivation (9 am - 4 pm) Using case-studies from Fortune 500 companies, this workshop will help you identify specific methods you can use to improve employee motivation. You'll learn how to use observation tools to find out what motivates your employees and you'll study classic motivational theories. The results will help you influence the behaviors of others and tweak your own behavior to improve your bottom line.

November 1st - Accountability: Stop the Blame Game! (9 am - 1 pm) Learn how to marry expectations to results in this workshop. This seminar will help you to create a game plan for building a culture of accountability with your team - starting at the top - and teach you how to design and use agreements with your team.

November 15th - Coaching Skills for Managers and Supervisors (9 am - 4 pm) This on-day workshop will teach you effective skills for coaching and training employees. You'll learn how to identify the characteristics of effective coaches and develop coaching strategies to support and assist your team, with the goal of helping them improve morale; productivity; and quality. And, you'll learn a Five-Step Approach for giving constructive criticism while managing defensive reactions.
