GEMS is a regional science/technology society initiated in 1982 to provide a forum for current topics relevant to environmental mutagenesis.  The Society presents two annual meetings and other related events for its members, sponsors in central North Carolina.

US-EPA security and parking information:

Access to Campus / Parking: Please ensure everyone has a photo ID as they will need to show them to the Security Officer at the entrance. Government ID is appropriate. Please encourage everyone to car-pool. Please let us know if you will be traveling by bus or vans. Visitors without Federal Government issued ID's will be required to be screened with a metal detector; in addition all personal items will be screened with the detector (bags, backpacks, laptops, etc.)


You will need to stop at the Officer's station and show your picture ID and report that you are visiting the individual [GEMS 2012 Spring Meeting] that serves as your point of contact. You will take the third right turn and another right into the Visitor's parking lot. Be sure to display the hang tag the officer will give you on your Rear View Mirror.

Laptop security:  If you intend to bring a laptop computer, please go the following website, open the "laptop authorization form" at bottom of page, complete form and bring a copy to the meeting.
