Registration begins at 8:30 am. Please anticipate approximately 20 minutes for parking/public transportation.

**Course will be canceled if the minimum enrollment of 10 participants is not met within 24 hours**

Purpose:
This training is designed to give the participant an overview of the San Francisco Emergency Operation Center (EOC) Planning Section.  It will provide familiarization with the organization and responsibilities of the Planning Section during an EOC activation.

Topics covered in the course include: 
- Review of the CCSF Emergency Response structures
- Review the EOC’s mission, objectives, and functions
- Review of the EOC Sections
- Organization and purpose of the EOC Planning Section

 

Prerequisites
This training was developed to provide an overview of the following courses:
IS-700 National Incident Management System (NIMS)
IS-800 National Response Framework (NRF)
ICS-100 Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS)
ICS-200 ICS for Single Resources & Initial Action Incidents

 

Recommended
IS-701 (NIMS Multiagency Coordination System (MACS))
IS-775 (EOC Management and Operations)

Course Length: 3 hours

Target Audience/Disciplines:
Anyone involved in emergency planning, response or recovery efforts.

Valid photo identification is requiredPersonal belongings such as bags/purses are subject to inspection at the discretion of Sheriff Deputies

Certification:
All students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate from DEM

Course Enrollment Minimum Policy: In order to use our resources to the fullest, we expect the course to meet the minimum enrollment of 10 participants. If the minimum is not met by the FRIDAY before the course offering, the course will be CANCELED and you will be notified.

Getting There:
Van Ness Avenue is under construction that reduced the three-lane avenue to two-lanes. The office is located on the east-side on Van Ness between Market St. and Fell St.

By Car: 
Please note: on-site street parking is limitedThere are meters located on Fell Street, east and west side - $1.50/hour and unlimited parking from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Due to the number of vehicle break-ins, street cleaning and time limit restrictions, it is strongly recommended that you use one of the nearby pay parking facilities. The closest garage is Opera Plaza Garage – the entrance is on Golden Gate Avenue between Van Ness Avenue and Franklin Street.  The cost is $18 / day.  

By Muni:
30 Van Ness is served by the following Muni lines:
- the 49 Van Ness – Mission stop is on the corner of Market and Van Ness 
- the 47 Van Ness stop is on the corner of Market and Van Ness
- the Munit Metro Lines J, KT, L, M, and N all stop at the Van Ness station
- the 9 San Bruno (Ferry Plaza or Bayshore Blvd.) stop is a half block south (11th St. / Market)

By BART: 
- exit the train at the Civic Center BART Station
- head southwest in Market St. toward Hayes St. 
- turn right onto Fell St.
- turn left on Van Ness Avenue
- walk half a block south on Van Ness to 30 Van Ness, Suite 3300

Food:
Food will not be permitted in the EOC, only capped beverages will be allowed. Coffee/tea must be in sealed travel mugs, not in take-away (to-go) cups. Beverages in capped bottles are also allowed. The lunchroom on the first floor has vending machines available to purchase drinks and snacks. There are also a number of restaurants approximately 5-6 blocks away from the EOC, primarily on Van Ness Avenue, Fillmore Street and Hayes Street. You are welcome to bring food and eat in the lunchroom, however, refrigeration space will not be made available.
