Event description

Description

In this experiential workshop, participants will enhance and deepen the felt sense of the body through the simple, yet elegant Tibetan Buddhist practice of developing Love and Compassion. The body is a dynamic field of sensory and energetic experience that is often disregarded in the world, as well as in both psychotherapy and spiritual practice. Being present in the body strengthens the sense of self, improves relationships, and greatly enhances one's capacity for feeling pleasure and joy, thus contributing to the development of a meaningful life. Professional and spiritual implications wil also be explored.

Corey Flanders has been a student and practitioner of meditation, yoga, and ecstatic spiritual traditions for over 22 years. He lived as a monk while completing four 100-day cloistered retreats in the Dzogchen tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Corey is now a psychotherapist and counselor in private practice in Providence. He is married and raising a son with his wife, Sara.
