EM101 Course EM 101 was established for new Emergency Managers to learn about the position that they entered into recently. The class was created by Local and State Emergency Managers to better educated and train new people coming into this profession. The class is an 7 hour course that will look at many aspects of the position. It is intended to give the new Emergency Manager an understanding of what the job is, why we do it, and how we are involved in all aspects of an emergency. During the 7 hours, we will be looking at the Roles and Responsibilities of the Emergency Manager, Laws and Authorities that provide us with these duties, how local Government works, which local assets we have to assist us in an emergency or disaster, then the 4 phases of Emergency Management.
