Description

Join Washington Green Schools for wine, hors d'oeuvres, and program on the Elwha River.

Fish are booming back, birds are bearing double clutches of young, a forest rises 20 feet overhead where there used to be lakes, and fishermen are already catching crab off Washington's newest beach. Join Washington Green Schools for a glass of wine and hear about the astounding changes in the Elwha watershed following the world's largest ever dam removal project. Presentation by Lynda Mapes, environment reporter at the Seattle Times and author of "Elwha: A River Reborn," with a slideshow of photos by Steven Ringman of the Seattle Times.
