About this event

Dwight Icenhower

Featuring Don Randi, pianist of the legendary Wrecking Crew

45 years after his passing, Elvis Presley is hotter than ever. The blockbuster biopic “Elvis” is blowing up the box office, hundreds of millions of listeners stream Presley’s music, and Dwight Icenhower, one of the top Elvis tribute artists on the planet, continues wowing audiences around the world. His show, Elvis: One Night With You, kicks off by recreating the sit-down session from Elvis's legendary ’68 Comeback Special. Icenhower, Elvis Presley Enterprises’s 2016 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Champion, brings Elvis's trademark sound to life with raw and rocking renditions of timeless favorites (“Hound Dog,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “That’s All Right Mama,” and more) in stripped-down style. Next, Icenhower and the four-piece band dive into a career-spanning look at Presley’s career with timeless songs from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. Special guest Don Randi, acclaimed pianist of the legendary Wrecking Crew, joins the jam for a rare appearance. Randi, who performed with Elvis on the ’68 Comeback Special soundtrack, will share stories of collaborating with Presley on those iconic recordings. Elvis: One Night with You, celebrates Elvis’s lasting legacy, reminding both new and longtime fans why he remains the undisputed King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Don Randi

A living embodiment of rock and pop music history, pianist Don Randi is best known as part of the legendary group of studio musicians known as The Wrecking Crew. If that’s not enough of a musical pedigree, Randi served as a musician and arranger for record producer Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. Throughout the 1960s and ’70s, Randi played on recordings and/or shared the stage with an amazing roster of talent, including Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, The Carpenters, Frank and Nancy Sinatra, Dean Martin, The Jackson 5, Linda Ronstadt, Sammy Davis Jr., Glen Campbell, The Monkees, Sonny and Cher, and many more. Randi has put his stamp on 300 hit records, such as The Beach Boys’ “Pet Sounds” album and Nancy Sinatra’s "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'." Randi founded L.A.’s Baked Potato jazz club in 1970, He has released 20 jazz albums of his own, including the 1980 Grammy-nominated “New Baby” and 2013’s “Acoustimania.” Additionally, he penned his memoir, “You’ve Heard These Hands: From the Wall of Sound to the Wrecking Crew and Other Incredible Stories.”
