Event description

Ellementa meets monthly to bring women together to learn about cannabis for health, wellness, self-care and caregiving. This is a non-consumption, educational event for women and female identified only. We create welcoming spaces where women can come together to speak openly about cannabis wellness.

Join us for an afternoon of conversation and sharing about cannabis. Meet the founders of Ellementa, a national network and resource that connects women to brands to support their cannabis exploration and journey.

The conversation will include:

  • Why cannabis works. A breakdown of our endocannabinoid system.
  • What kind of pain cannabis can potentially relieve. Anecdotal evidence and scientific research.
  • Why cannabis is beneficial for women. Personal stories of how cannabis helps.
  • Who are the trusted brands in cannabis. Recommendations of reputable companies, especially local and women-owned.

Our panel for the afternoon's discussion will include Andrea Brooks, CMO of Sava, Pamela Hadfield, co-founder of HelloMD, and Melissa Pierce and Aliza Sherman, co-founders of Ellementa.

Our Speakers

Pamela Hadfield is Co-founder of HelloMD, the largest online community of health and wellness cannabis consumers. She has been in technology for over 15 years, creating original user experiences for some of today’s most recognizable brands. After discovering cannabis as a solution for her own chronic medical condition, and successfully getting off of opioids, she is now passionate about cannabis education, promoting cannabis as a tool for overall health and wellness.

Andrea Brooks is a cannabis advocate, lobbyist for social change, and entrepreneur with a passion for health and wellness. Following a disabling injury in which cannabis played a crucial role in her recovery, Ms. Brooks was inspired to create a space where cannabis was accessible, how to use it was clear, and where it came from was transparent. In 2015 she founded SAVA, an online marketplace for curated cannabis goods that delivers to patients throughout California. Learn more at www.getsava.com.

Aliza Sherman

Aliza Sherman is co-founder and CEO of Ellementa, Inc., publisher of HerCannaLife.com, and an author of 11 books. She founded the first woman-owned and Latina-owned Internet company, Cybergrrl, Inc., and the first global group for women to learn about the Internet from other women, Webgrrls International. She also founded one of the earliest social media agencies in 2006 and a smartphone apps company in 2010.

Melissa Pierce

Melissa Pierce is co-founder and COO of Ellementa. She has spent some portion of her life as a filmmaker, life coach, reiki master, computer coder, women‘s rights activist, and corporate mastermind. Currently, she works to enrich women’s lives through her work with Ellementa, which she cofounded.

The Agathist Collective

Also joining us will be Rebecca Byars. Rebecca co-founded The Agathist Collective with her husband, Timothy, in June 2015. The Agathist Collective is a cannabis consulting and delivery service that provides our older population with the information, products, and support that they need for relief from chronic and age-related illnesses. Rebecca has been active in the cannabis community since 2014 and regularly attends civic meetings to advocate for access in Contra Costa County. She is a board member of the Bay Area Couriers Association and also holds memberships with the Rossmoor Medical Marijuana Club and Contra Costa County NORML.
