Elise Ringenberg at SDC's Celebration of Chicago Art
Elise Marie Ringenberg is a graduate assistant at Columbia College where she is working towards her Masters in Dance/Movement Therapy. She has a passion for working with others on a physical, cognitive, and emotional level. Discovering that choreographing is another modality in which this may be achieved, she has channeled her creativity towards making work that is mentally stimulating, emotionally charging, and physically challenging. She has presented her work at multiple venues including concerts by MOVED, Karlovsky & Company Dance, Midwest Ballet Theatre, and DanceTCU.
Elise graduated summa cum laude from Texas Christian University where she received a BFA in Modern Dance as an Honors Scholar. She has performed in works by Susan Douglas Roberts, Sarah Gamblin, Dawn Karlovsky, Nina Martin, Sarah Newton, KT Niehoff, Leslie Scates, Christopher Watson, and Jane Weiner to name a few. Most recently, Elise lived in St. Louis where she danced for Karlovsky & Company Dance, taught dance at Patzius Performing Arts, and taught Pilates at the Pilates and Yoga Center.
Currently, Elise is a Pilates instructor at Roots of Integrity in the South Loop. She has a comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Body University and is in the process of working towards a GYROKINESIS certification. In addition, Elise runs a small business MotionExpress where she privately works with children with developmental differences to help enhance emotional, cognitive, psychological, and social integration of the individual.
