Description
Join us for conversation and updates as part of the Eliot School's ongoing process of exploring options for expanded, improved space.
This meeting on June 24 is a chance for students, faculty, board, donors, neighbors and other stakeholders to come together, understand where we are in this process, and participate in conversations around the school's space needs and future space.
BACKGROUND:
The Eliot School is moving through a process to achieve a space that supports our work - including handicapped access, safe work environment, and enough room for teaching, administration, project preparation and storage - a place that reflects our mission of inspiring craftsmanship and creativity for all.
We spent 2018 exploring what it might look like to expand our schoolhouse on Eliot Street. This year, we are exploring what it might look like to move to a new Boston location, either completely or in part.
We have engaged consultants Jennifer Gilbert and Traggorth Companies to help us with this work. By the end of 2019, they will provide us with a number of possible models.
In 2020, the Eliot School board will begin the process of deciding what path to take forward as we continue to serve children throughout Boston with our partnerships, and students of all ages in our own facilities.
This evening is a chance to be part of the conversation during this research phase.
