"Brazilian jazz celebrates that which is radiant and joyous and moving
and in this regard, Elin more than matches the material she sings."
-All About Jazz

"Zeal, ambition and musical ESP fire Elin's 'Lazy Afternoon'... a debut that has all the wonder of a magical discovery...like a Frank Sinatra devotee, she controls the song's tempo and demeanor through her lush phrasing and luxurious delivery, each word flowing like liquid chocolate." -Down Beat Magazine

Originally hailing from Sweden, where she was born and raised by a Peruvian father and an Irish mother, Elin grew up in three different continents -- Europe, Central, and North America -- where she was exposed to a variety of musical styles and learned to speak multiple languages. Steeped in multiculturalism from the start, Elin discovered Brazilian music at the age of 15 and never looked back. Her latest project represents a culmination of her love for Brazilian music and the singers that shaped her career.
Recorded in NYC two years ago, Elin’s most recent album, Brasileira de Alma e Coração -- A Brazilian Heart and Soul, is a tribute to Elis Regina, featuring Antonio Adolfo, multiple Grammy-award-nominee and Elis Regina's pianist and musical director in the 1960’s. The album showcases repertoire from the beginning, middle, and end of Elis Regina's career, including some of her biggest hits, rearranged by Antonio Adolfo and reimagined for the modern jazz quartet. Also featured on the album are Christian McBride, Yotam Silberstein, Rafael Barata, and Nilson Matta.

Prior to relocating to Washington, DC, Elin spent 11 years on the New York City jazz scene, releasing her debut album to critical acclaim and winning multiple songwriting awards. She sold out Jazz at Lincoln Center twice and performed at top jazz venues like the Blue Note, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Joe’s Pub, Iridium, and Smoke. Elin has toured extensively and opened for Chaka Khan, George Benson, and Nancy Wilson at the Miami Jazz in the Gardens Festival. She also spent three months singing at the "Lost in Translation" hotel in Tokyo, Japan. Locally, she performs every Thursday night at the Eighteenth Street Lounge with 10-piece salsa band, Orquesta Melao, and is a regular collaborator with EDM giants, Thievery Corporation -- with whom she performed at the Kennedy Center in May of 2017 and co-wrote three songs with on their Brazilian-tribute album, “Saudade.”
