Event description
Benefit Jazz Concert featuring Elijah & The Fixins, with special guest Glennroy Bailey! Silent Auction and Musical Instrument Drive

About this Event

Former Richmond Public Schools student turned band leader, Elijah J. Woodward, teams up with his first music teacher, mentor and local jazz favorite, Glennroy Bailey, for an evening of jazz music benefiting the international charity, Hungry For Music.

Elijah & The Fixins was formed by band leader and saxophonist, Elijah J. Woodward. Although born in Washington, DC, Elijah was raised in Richmond, VA where he first learned to play the saxophone in Richmond Public Schools. Returning to the District in 2018 to attend Duke Ellington School of the Arts, he quickly began to gel with other students who, like him, are also members of the Washington Jazz Arts Institute who study under the direction of famed jazz musician and educator, Davey Yarborough. Looking for even more opportunities to play jazz, "The Fixins" was formed.

Listen with love, enjoy a silent auction, and bring in your old musical instruments to donate them to a worthy cause. A portion of the proceeds to benefit the charity Hungry for Music.

This is a Community Service Event.
