Background

Manchester Day is an annual outdoor arts event now in its 8th year centres around a large scale parade and city square artistic programme. Over 2,500 performers and artists from local communities bring Manchester city centre to life in a fantastic display of colour, sound and movement to an audience of 70,000. This year’s Manchester Day theme is Abracadabra.

What is ELEVATE?

ELEVATE is a North West outdoor artist mentoring and training programme. Creative practitioners are mentored and trained by experts to work on Manchester Day, Manchester's largest scale outdoor arts event.

Want to be part of making creative content for a major outdoor event?

Manchester Day brings together outdoor artists from across the region to work from one location (the WOW workshop) between May and June each year.

Placements will work alongside these artists, gaining knowledge of outdoor arts and new practical making skills in a fast paced mass-scale production line. Building networks and portfolio for your future.

  • Creative skillset in ‘making’

  • Friendly, with great communication skills

  • Punctual and reliable
