Elements of Change: Building Skills for Resilience
Event Information
About this Event
~ {{ EVENT DESCRIPTION }} ~
As seasons change and the very nature of humanity grows more complex, it is imperative that we strategically adapt to the elements around us. Through climate disasters, social movements, corrupt politics, and deadly diseases — we realize how vital collaboration and mutual aid efforts have become. Therefore, Conscious Growth presents “Elements of Change: Building Skills for Resilience.” This community driven event will include educational workshops, activism, networking, and live music in a safe outdoor space. Join us to explore wisdom, inspiration, and empowerment in midst of the challenges we currently face.
In order to keep everyone safe, this event will be held entirely outside on a 40 acre farm in Oregon City (traditional territory of the Clackamas people). This land is set among towering fir trees, scenic trails, and a beach along the Clackamas River. Please dress warm and appropriately to feel comfortable in the potential chill of November. Wearing masks is encouraged and mandatory for certain activities, while hand sanitizer and gloves will be available. Please bring your own reusable cup/mug, water bottle, snacks, blankets, and chairs. Refreshments will be provided (water, hot tea, hot cider, and hot soup). Multiple canopies will be set up for shelter, as well as several fires for warmth.

~ {{ CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF WARM SPRINGS }} ~
The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs reside on Oregon’s largest Indigenous Reservation. Their nation consists of the Warm Springs, Wasco and Paiute Native American Tribes, stretching from the snowcapped summit of the Cascade Mountains to the palisaded cliffs of the Deschutes River in Central Oregon.
On May 31, 2019 the Tribal Council of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs announced an emergency disaster declaration due to immediate health threats resulting from a 14” water main line break in the Shitike Creek. Because of public utilities capital maintenance deferment over the last few decades, today, over a year into rolling water outages and a boil water notice across Oregon’s largest reservation, there is still no relief in sight.
In an effort to help Indigenous peoples of Warm Springs, the MRG Foundation organized The Chúush Fund, which accepts donations that directly benefit the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs as they work to restore their access and infrastructure for clean water. The MRG Foundation is an Indigenous-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon. Their mission is to inspire people to work together for justice and mobilize resources for Oregon communities as they build collective power to change the world.
