Description
Join the SOCMR family for the screening of the second installment of the award-winning documentary Elementary Genocide 2: The Board of Education vs The Board of Incarceration. The Board of Education vs The Board of Incarceration uncovers the true purpose of today's educational system and how it's failing the African child. Going beyond the school-to-prison pipeline headlines and conspiracy theories, The Board of Education Vs. The Board of Incarceration proves that something sinister is afloat by digging deep to explore its origin, its existence and how to plot its destruction to save every Black child.
The film includes interviews with noted educator and Black psychologist Dr. Umar Johnson, Chief Juvenile Court Judge Steven C. Teske, fearless former U.S. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, former political prisoner and Black Liberation Army co-founder Dhoruba bin Wahad, popular social commentator Dr. Boyce Watkins, award-winning education reformer Dr. Steve Perry and more.
After the screening join us for a panel discussion with the the director, Rahiem Shabazz and other community leaders and organizers as we discuss his film and address various approaches to the school-to-prison pipeline. We invite all parents, students, teachers, school administratiors and those concerned with topic to attend the screening and weigh in on the discussion.
All tickets will come with a raffle ticket for opportunites for you to win copies of Elementary Genocide: The School to Prison Pipeline and Elementary Genocide 2: The Board of Education vs The Board of Incarceration.
Tickets are $8/adults in advance and $10 at the door. Children 12 & under free.
$5/students (high school/college with ID)
You can sponsor a student by donating a student ticket admission. For ex., if you donate $20 that will allow 4 students to attend the screening for free. These tickets will be given on a first come first serve basis.
