Why YOU should attend ELDOA:

Used by athletes, coaches and therapists all over the world – ELDOA’s are one of the most sought after techniques for maintaining high level performance!

ELDOA’s offer chronic and acute back pain relief, effective injury rehab and prevention, improved posture and muscle tone, increased disc hydration and more!

The 6-level ELDOA education program covers anatomy, biomechanics and practical application of all the ELDOA’s developed by Guy VOYER DO.

The course discusses The Most Frequently Used ELDOA Postures of the Spine. The history of the ELDOA according to Guy VOYER DO, and the Historical Synopsis of the ELDOA are also discussion topics. The remainder of the course, Kapandji spine biomechanics and descriptive anatomy are taught. Students learn the ELDOA postures of the spine from the level of L5-S1 to C2-C3 and the Factors of Progression are introduced.

Lecture topics include: Descriptive Anatomy and Kapandji Biomechanics of the Spine, Water Imbibition of the Intervertebral Disc – Gel-Sol, Fascia Overview and the Roles of the Fascia – According to Guy VOYER, DO, Factors of Progression, and the Theories of the ELDOA program.

This course has no prerequisites.

ELDOA is an exercise technique designed to decompress the space within a chosen articulation. Osteo-Articular means bones and joints, Decoaptation means opening, ELDOA is the name of both the technique and the postures involved.

The working principle of ELDOA, using tensegrity biomechanics and 35 years of fasical research were designed by French Osteopath Guy VOYER DO to "create space" within a precise joint or a segment of the spine, this is accomplished by creating fascial tension to fix the vertebra below and contraction in extreme range to normalize the vertebra above the targeted disc. By creating myofascial tension (tension in the fascia), the ELDOA can affect the tissue, ligaments, nervous tissues, and organs associated with that joint or spinal segment. There are ELDOAs for the spine, sacro-illiac joint, shoulders, hips, ribs, and skull.

The ELDOA are specific and complex techniques that require attention to form and correct progressions, once they are learnt they take only a minute per ELDOA to do. Everyone can benefit from the effects of ELDOAs and with the guidance of a Certified ELDOA Trainer, this technique is highly beneficial for both injury rehabilitation, prevention and performance.

The Goals of the ELDOA™ are as follows:

• To create more space between the vertebrae.

• To create more space for the intervertebral disc.

• To depress the nerve between the vertebrae.

• To improve proprioception of the vertebral joint segment.

• To improve proprioception of the Function Spinal Unit (FSU).

• To hydrate the intervertebral disc.

• To move all the parts of the annulus fibrosis to stimulate the water intake.

More about ELDOA

Étirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation Ostéo Articulaire - Fascia Techniques for Spinal Health

ELDOA are postural exercises that you can do yourself with the primary goal being to increase the space within a chosen articulation. As the ELDOA “create” space, there is an improvement in joint mechanics, increased blood flow, reduced pressure on the discs, a reduction of pain, spinal disc hydration, improved posture, and a sense of well being and awareness.

The fundamental structure of our bodies, the spine, is the base of our health and our longevity. Due to its complexity and integral structure, many of our health conditions are based on improper function of the spine and surrounding joint regions. When a human experiences compression, blockages and neurological imbalances the body are looking for a way to restore. A effective solution to these are the ELDOA.

For over 35 years French Osteopath Guy VOYER, DO has continued to develop and master the ELDOA and today it is one of the few techniques that effectively heal the spine. VOYER is world renowned to have mastered the treatment of fascia and how to prescribe exercises to reinforce these treatments.

The ELDOA are meticulous posture formations with the intention of targeting a specific functional unit, joint region, in the body. It is a self-normalizing technique with the purpose of increasing space within an articulation. By utilizing myofascial stretching, the ELDOA combines tension with separation, also known as LOADS – Longitudinal Osteo-articular Decoaptation Stretches.

The ELDOA course is for EVERYONE: exercise professionals and physical trainers, athletic trainers and directors, massage therapists, coaches, golf and movement instructors, Pilates and Yoga instructors, health care providers and clients!
