Elderberry Growing Workshop hosted by UMES Extension

Join UMES Extension to learn about elderberries from growing to harvesting to products you can make.

Learn how to grow your own elderberries. UMES Extension will host a free workshop Saturday, March 2, 2024. The event will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the UMES Research, Extension and Teaching Farm.

Henriette den Ouden, UMES' elderberry expert, will take participants outside to see elderberries growing on our campus farm. Learn how to make cuttings, plant and grow healthy bushes. Also discussed will be different cultivars and the local native ones. Learn how to harvest and what products one can make.

This event is aimed at anyone from your backyard gardener to farmer. Participants will take home cuttings ready to plant.

Parts of this workshop will take place outside; dress accordingly for weather.

Preregistration is required as spots are limited. There is no cost for this event.
