Free Information on Issues Affecting Seniors
The San Diego Law Library presents an elder law class series, providing information on a variety of topics that affect senior citizens. Taking place the first three Tuesdays in October, these classes are free and open to the public.
Tuesday, October 4, 12 - 1pm: Scams and Frauds Seniors Should Know About
- Information to help seniors recognize scams and protect against potential fraud
- Presented by Deputy District Attorney Scott Pirrello
Tuesday, October 11, 12 - 1pm: Estate Planning and Legal Issues Affecting Seniors
- An overview of diminishing capacity, what seniors face later in life, and what lawyers can do to help
- Presented by Jaime Levine from Elder Law & Advocacy
Tuesday, October 18, 12 - 1pm: An Overview of Legal Options at the End of Life
- Information about the law in California, including the End of Life Option Act (EOLOA)
- Presented by psychologist Faye Girsh and attorney William Simmons
