ELab Alum events are back!
To continue to support graduates' business development and networking efforts ELabNYC works with the Alum Planning Committee to develop opportunities to learn from and interact with other alums, as well as potential mentors, investors and professional advisors.
This year, we deliver a series of five events under the title “Team Building” as a necessary part of growing your business and attracting investors. The first four sessions take place at the offices of Pryor Cashman LLP and will have the following format:

6:00 – 7:00 pm: Program
7:00 – 7:30 pm: Q&A
7:30 – 8:00 pm: More schmoozing
Here’s a brief description of the 3rd session: we look forward to seeing you soon! Please sign up now. The room is limited to 75 participants.
Feb 8 2017: “CFO's: Accounting for Success”
John Pennett, Partner in Charge of Technology and Life Science Practices
Allan Shaw, Syndax Pharmaceutical, CFO
Brian Batchelder, Rocket Pharma, CFO
James Leslie, Celmatix, CFO and COO
Can you convince investors to give you money if you’ve never had private investors before? What are your money management skills? Does it make sense to hire a part-time or full-time person for help in this area? Remaining sensitive to the three models from Session #1, our panel will address the need for careful budgeting and projections grounded in realistic assumptions and how to respond if costs start to exceed budgets and projections will not be met. How can a good CFO help with these issues? Is it better to try to address them yourself? The discussion will revisit some of the skills discussion from the previous session, such as soliciting and picking suitable candidates and compensation negotiations.
