Join fellow Vanguards for a full weekend of fun! Recall our years at El Mo, rekindle old friendships (where did the years go?), make new friends, and catch up!


FRIDAY EVENING, September 6, 6-10 pm--Class No-Host Gatherings

Registering for one of these events will allow the establishment to prepare for us! Remember, food and drink will be available for purchase at each location.

  • The Class of '68 will meet at Ruby's Diner, 186 N. Atchinson St., Orange, 92866, 714-639-7829, next to the Orange Amtrak Depot.

  • The Class of '69 will get together at Moreno's at 4328 E. Chapman Ave., Orange, 92869, 714-639-2181.

  • The Class of '70 will gather at The District Lounge, 223 W. Chapman Ave, Orange, 92866, near the Circle, 714-639-7777.

SATURDAY EVENING, September 7, 6-11 pm--"Vanguard Memories" Dinner Dance at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim

This is the night of the Big Event--the "Vanguard Memories" Dinner Dance at The Phoenix Club, 1340 S. Sanderson Ave., Anaheim, 92806, 714-563-4166! Join us for music, photo booth, dinner, dancing, and lots of fun! Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free meal requests must be made on the registration page. Please note that tickets are $70 per person until July 31. The price will increase by $15 as of August 1. Ticket sales will end on August 20. Space is limited, so get your tickets as soon as possible! El Modena teachers, we would like to thank you for being our teachers by giving you a special price of $30 per person.

Are there any songs that bring back special memories? Add your requests when you register, and you can go back to add more later!

SUNDAY, September 8, 11 AM-5 PM--Friends and Family BYO Picnic

Finally, we will conclude our celebration with the Family and Friends BYO picnic at Irvine Regional Park, Large Group Area #2 (irvinepark@ocparks.com, 1 Irvine Park Rd, 92869, 714-973-6835). There is a $5 entry fee per vehicle, and no alcohol is allowed. The park snack bar is close by if you want to purchase your lunch. Look for signs pointing the way!


Click on the red 'Select-a-Date' (CLICK ON THE SEPTEMBER 6 DATE FOR ALL EVENTS) and the green 'Tickets' button to register for the no-cost events and to purchase tickets to the "Vanguard Memories" Dinner Dance event--scroll down through the list to choose the events you plan on attending. Please register for the no-cost events so we know how many people to expect.

If you wish to pay for your Dinner Dance tickets by check, under Payment Method, use the drop-down arrow and choose 'pay by check'.

After you register, you'll be able to check the list of attendees to see which of your fellow classmates are coming!


Be sure to book early! Check with booking.com, expedia, etc. for better rates.

We have reserved a block of rooms at a special Reunion rate at Ayres Hotel and The Hotel Fullerton, .

  • Ayres Hotel, 2550 East Katella Ave., Anaheim, 92806 (714-634-2106 x 0, mention code EMHS97) for $169 per night. Book by July 26 to get the Reunion rate for Saturday night. Try to negotiate with them if you'd like to spend Friday night there too. Limited space on their shuttle is an advantage.

  • The Hotel Fullerton, 1221 East Burton St., Fullerton, 92831 (877-700-0688) for $110 per night. Mention "El Mo Reunion" when you book.

  • Limited free shuttle to and from the Phoenix Club is available from both hotels. Contact the hotels directly for more information.

The ticket price covers the costs of the "Vanguard Memories" Dinner Dance event. An online Memory Book will be compiled after the reunion weekend with photos and information from classmates collected online and at the reunion activities. Watch your inbox or junk mail folder for a message with a form to complete if you want to be included. This book will be available to download at no cost!


Which events are free to attend?

The Friday evening gatherings are free unless you want to purchase drinks and /or food. On Sunday, there is a $5 entry charge per vehicle at Irvine Regional Park, the site of the Friends and Family Picnic. If you wish to eat, you are responsible for bringing your own food (no alcohol is allowed) or purchasing food at the Snack Bar.

Can I come to the "Vanguard Memories" Dinner Dance after dinner without paying for a ticket?

No. You must purchase a ticket in order to come to this event.

Are reduced price tickets available for the dinner event?

If money is available after all expenses have been covered, or if generous classmates have made donations towards tickets, we may be able to offer assistance. If you are interested in attending the reunion, but the ticket price is more than you can afford, please send an email to elmoreunion2019@gmail.com for more information. Your inquiry will be kept confidential. Please include your name, name during high school, class year and phone number.

I need a vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free meal at the dinner. How do I Iet you know?

You must indicate your choice when you register.

Some of my registration information has changed. What should I do?

You may edit your registration information online at any time before the Reunion weekend.

How can I contact the committee with questions or concerns?

There is a place to ask questions and address concerns when you register. You may access your registration at any time before the event. Or, send us a message directly to elmoreunion2019@gmail.com and your questions or concerns will be answered as soon as possible.

I am now unable to attend, so what can I do?

Depending on ticket sales, refunds may be made after the event through the committee, not Eventbrite. Please make your request by email at elmoreunion2019@gmail.com.

I'd like to volunteer to help make the Reunion Weekend a success! How should I offer my services?

Great! When you register you will find a list of opportunities to help such as helping with set up and break down at the Dinner and the Friends and Family Picnic, or to volunteer before the weekend. If you would like to help make decorations, name tags, or help in any other way, please indicate what kind of help you can provide and when you will be available. Thanks!
