EIA-U Day 1: Setting Yourself Up for Success + Team Hunt [new]
Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM (EDT)
This first class will introduce you to entrepreneurship as a whole, touching on all the questions above. It's important to assess yourself, to see if you're going down the right path. We'll meet successful NYU founders and EIA alumni who've taken the entrepreneurial and get their advice on how best to start. We will also go through a list of resources such as prototyping tools, wire-framing tools.
Food will be served.
After the class, we'll be having a team hunt with the Entrepreneurial Exchange Group (EEG) from NYU Stern-- come meet other people from NYU!
EIA-U is a semester-long program that aims to expose students to the principles of entrepreneurship outside the restrictions of a classroom. EIA-U is free and open to all.
Over the course of 5 classes, EIA-U participants will learn about all the skills and resources that they need to enter Inno/Vention, the NYU $200K Challenge, or to get started in a venture on their own-- all in a supportive, peer-enabled environment.
Who is EIA-U for? If you want to launch your own startup, learn new skills, or if you're just curious, EIA-U is for you. No HW, no tests-- just get the support you need, build your ideas, and learn new skills.
While EIA-U is open to everyone, only registered participants get a certificate and these special perks:
- Space to work at one of NYU-Poly's incubators (if appropriate)
- Legal help from lawyers before anyone else
- Priority access to mentors and resources
- Be added to the EIA-U listserv
- and more

Entrepreneurship & Innovation Association
The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Association (EIA) seeks to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem based upon NYU Poly's i2e mission. The club will provide a forum to learn the concepts of entrepreneurship, provide the benefits of self-employment, and the step-by-step path involved in launching and commercializing your own ideas.
The EIA is dedicated to helping NYU-Poly students navigate the entrepreneurial world. We want to help you find collaborators and cofounders or give you the know-how to work at a start-up.
Integration - Among students in different majors from all NYU schools, students will also interact with faculty and alumni.
Commercialization - Provide students with concepts of entrepreneurship and opportunities to work on commercializing their ideas.
Employment - Help students get internships and jobs through networking with alumni and startups.
