Class Times/Dates:

  • Thurs. 8/20: 7-10pm
  • Fri. 8/21: 10-3:30 * 90 min lunch break
  • Sat. 8/22: 10-3:30 *90 min lunch break
  • Sun. 8/23 : 10-1pm

Schedule: 4 sessions

Class size: 18 students maximum

Class length: 3-4 hours (18 hours total) + 1 performance

Prerequisites: None-open to adults 18 and olde!

Tuition: $210

Make stories together spontaneously. There are untold stories to discover, explore, and co-create. Explore how your creative voice is influenced by those of your partners. Effortlessly reveal stories from your unlimited imagination in collaboration with your fellow improvisers.

About Rebecca

Rebecca started performing improvisation in college and then took an improv hiatus to do memorized theatre for a while. In the mid-80s, her love-affair with improv was rekindled when she discovered TheatreSports in Seattle. She performed with Unexpected Productions [formerly Seattle TheatreSports], Out of the Blue, Out of Line, BATS Improv, Pulp Playhouse, True Fiction Magazine, Eat the Apple, Fratelli Bologna, The Trifecta, and Impro Theatre. She has improvised in 30 cities on 4 continents, and has been instrumental in starting Theatresports in several cities including this one!

About Paul

Paul served as the first Artistic Director of BATS Improv from 1996 to 1998, and has played TheatresportsTM in Seattle, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, NY, LA, Orlando, Ashland, Stanford, and Sydney, Australia. Paul was a founding member of True Fiction Magazine, and he has toured with the San Francisco Mime Troupe, several regional Shakespeare companies, and is a film and commercial actor. He teaches Improvisational Theatre at the College of Marin.

About William

William has been a professional actor since graduating from Boston University. His notable film appearances include Twisted, The Right Stuff, and Hemingway & Gelhorn (HBO, Feb 2012). William is a founding member of Fratelli Bologna; as an executive trainer, he has led communication and creativity programs for corporations worldwide. He is a mask maker/trainer and has an extensive collection of Jokers. In 1986 he co-founded BATS Improv.

Refund Policy:

BATS Improv Class Refund Policy: Class cancellation policy: If you cancel more than 96 hours (4 days) before a class begins, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee. If you cancel within 96 hours (4 days) of your first class, your tuition will be forfeit. Summer Youth and Adult Sessions cancellation policy: If you cancel more than 14 days (2 weeks) before your first class, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee. If you cancel within 14 days (2 weeks) of your first class, your tuition will be forfeit. All cancellation and refund requests must be emailed to registrar@improv.org, and include the title and start date of your class. In the event that we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, we’ll refund your tuition in full. Please note: In the past, we have offered class credit in lieu of refunds. We are no longer able to offer this option. Each class tuition payment will stand on its own, and is non-transferable.
