Event description

Description

The Cleveland Cuyahoga Partnership provides opportunities for families through evidence based strategies to decrease the incidence of infant death. Recent analysis by Cuyahoga County's Child Fatality Review program shows that two of the most common causes for an infant death are prematurity and sleep related deaths.

Counseling families to support communication skills with medical providers, evidence based clinical interventions, and parenting strategies to support safe sleep practices are effective ways to reduce premature births and sleep related deaths. This workshop will provide participants with skills to educate and support families to reduce associated risks. Topics include: Progesterone Therapy, CenteringPregnancy, and Safe Sleep.

The free workshop is made possible in partnership with the Ohio Quality Perinatal Collaborative, Cuyahoga County Child Fatality Review, and First Year Cleveland.

Free CEUs for social workers, nurses, and counselors (pending)

Who should attend: Community Health Workers, Home Visitors, Doulas, Nurses, Social Workers, Counselors, and others working with maternal and child health population.
