Effective Strategies for Health Communication

The healthcare industry is being dramatically transformed. Governments, private companies, and non-profit health organizations operating nationally and internationally are facing important challenges and opportunities. Changing demographics in the region and changing patterns in media consumption habits mean that health campaigns and health communications needs to be rethought in ways in which they consider the transformation of public opinion and the media technologies in general.

Part 1: Social Marketing for Health Communication

Students will understand how social marketing can be applied to various public health issues, as they explore innovative approaches to social marketing.

W. Douglas Evans, professor of prevention and community health and global health at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University, will teach this course. Evans work focuses on the translation of marketing strategies to interventions to promote adoption of positive health behaviors and avoidance of health risk behaviors.

Part 2: Brand Positioning and Stakeholder Engagement in Health Communications
