Event description

Description

Effective Social Impact Governance: Before you can develop your innovative idea, you must develop a theory of change. A theory of change drives your entrepreneurial purpose by identifying the population targeted for service and the outcomes of your program’s actions. An effective theory of change has meaning for stakeholders, clearly states how the program will be delivered, and can be measured or tracked over time. Measuring outcomes is a necessary step in this process, and though it can pose considerable challenges, it is not as difficult as many might suggest. The primary difficulty lies in determining which data are needed, and establishing an efficient, accurate system for collecting them over time. To quantify and confirm impact, outcomes must be directly attributable to an organization’s program or service. We provide the following explanations of short-term, intermediate, and long-term outcomes as created and defined by our colleague David Hunter. Use them as a guide to define your intended social impact.
