On Tuesday, September 11, 2019, the NH Coalition to End Homelessness will host a one-day training on Effective Client and Family Engagement.

About this Event

Objectives

Learn techniques to increase efficiency and effectiveness in responding to a range of challenging mental health and substance abuse related behaviors in clients and family contacts.

Learn techniques to monitor and improve their own emotional responses as they impact work with clients and family contacts.

Identify and understand challenging behaviors in clients and family contacts: Why would anyone behave like this? Connecting mental health and substance abuse concerns to client and family behaviors.

Increase awareness of our own emotional responses to challenging client and family behaviors.

This program has been approved for 6 Category A Continuing Education Credits by the National Association of Social Workers, NH Chapter, CEU # 3593. LADC CEU's pending.Lunch is not provided, however ample time will be left for attendees to eat or pick up food at a local establishment.

Trainer: Scott Meyer, MSW, Ph.D. is a professor of social work at Plymouth State University. Dr. Meyer previously served on the faculty at the Boston University School of Medicine as a clinical instructor of psychiatry and has also taught at Curry College in Massachusetts and at Roger Williams College in Rhode Island.
