Effective Caregiver Training Programs: Keys to Successful Implementation
Caregiver training can be a significant component to a successful behavior analytic program designed for behavior acquisition or reduction. Training caregivers on behavior analytic procedures can also produce desired behavior change in the absence of a practitioner providing direct services to a client. Research within the field of Applied Behavior Analysis has provided a collection of literature on what constitutes evidenced-based approaches when training others to carry out behavior analytic interventions and strategies. In this presentation, we will discuss the following:
1. Elements and characteristics of an effective caregiver training program as described in the research literature
2. Roadblocks and barriers to effective implementation of caregiver training programs
3. How to increase participation levels from caregivers during implementation of training programs
Participants who attend this presentation will earn 1.0 CEU.
