It's Alive!!! Eerie Horror Fest is an annual 4-day culture and industry event celebrating horror cinema in Erie, Pennsylvania.

About this event

Each night of the 2021 Eerie Horror Fest will feature a curated program of new, upcoming and classic short and feature length films, plus celebrity guests participating in live, in-person Q&As, autographs and photo opportunities.

Celebrity guests to include:

  • Michael Biehn (The Terminator, Aliens, Tombstone)
  • Marc Blucas (TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Unearth)
  • David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London)
  • Announcing more guests soon!

Saturday afternoon the Greater Erie Film Office will host a networking event and Industry Panel on how to pitch your idea to producers and distributors. We will introduce a new Pitch Competition for Eerie Horror Fest 2022 with opportunities for writers and filmmakers to bring their stories to life.

Pitch panelists to include:

Aliens (1986) Special Edition

Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the sole survivor of the Nostromo's deadly encounter with the monstrous Alien, returns to Earth after drifting through space in hypersleep for 57 years. Although her story is initially met with skepticism, she agrees to accompany a team of Colonial Marines back to planet LV-246.

We will be screening the special edition, extended cut of the film which broadens the narrative scope and enriches the emotional impact of the film.

"How to Pitch" Industry Panel

The Greater Erie Film Office and Blood Oath will present a panel of industry professionals about one of the scariest parts of making a horror movie - how to land a deal.

This event is best suited for filmmakers, screenwriters, students and creative entrepreneurs.

Panelists:

  • Members of Blood Oath including Aaron B. Koontz, Brandon Hill, Logan Ann Taylor, David Guglielmo
  • Marc Blucas
  • Jacqueline George

The goal is to educate Erie-based filmmakers to pitch their films with confidence in our 2022 Pitch Competition, where prizes could include having their pitch considered for first look deals by industry professionals.

Unearth (2020)

A fracking horror story, "Unearth" follows two neighboring farm families whose relationships are strained when one of them chooses to lease their land to an oil and gas company. In the midst of growing tension, the land is drilled, and something long dormant and terrifying, deep beneath the earth's surface is released.

Unearth was an Erie-based production which has played in festivals worldwide for the past year. Our event is the first, and only time, many of the lead cast members have been reunited in-person, to discuss the film.
