Educator Workshop:Best Practices for Cultural Progs for People w/Dementia
We estimate there are 250,000 people living with Alzheimer's or a related dementia in New York City. With this number increasing over the next few years, cultural institutions have a unique opportunity to combat feelings of isolation through community building programs for this audience.
This two-hour educator workshop will focus on best practices in engaging people with dementia and their caregivers. It will be grounded in New York's unique population and the resources for deepening current programs as well as beginning new ones that serve diverse older New Yorkers. The workshop will include breakout sessions to discuss your ideas and barriers for these programs.
