Join Lewisham education workers to discuss how we win a living pay rise for all who work in our schools. Inflation is rising but so are we!

About this event

This public meeting will discuss the impact of the cost of living crisis on school staff in Lewisham and beyond.

As the National Education Union gears up to ballot teacher members for action on pay, we will be joined by Joint General Secretary, Kevin Courtney.

Education writer and campaigner Melissa Benn will put declining pay for teachers and support staff in the context of increased privatisation and marketisation of education.

Lewisham teachers and support staff will share their experiences of the cost of living crisis, why we need a pay rise and how we are going to fight for it.

We will be joined by a speaker from the RMT to tell us how they built action over jobs, pay and conditions on the railways.

There will also be time for short contributions and questions from the floor.
