About this Event

Lightning talk by University of East London Archivist Paul Dudman reflecting on the work being undertaken at UEL on the Open Learning Initiative (OLIve) course for refugees and asylum seekers providing an introduction to the UK Higher Education system.

The talk will also discuss the community engagement and outreach work being undertaken on behalf of the Refugee Archives at UEL which include the Refugee Council Archive and also the Council for At-Risk Academics.

This talk will touch upon the challenges of trying to access UK higher education as a refugee and will consider the importance of refugee rights within the archival record.
