Description
USBG Austin and Texas Tiki Week is pleased to welcome Jabriel Donohue from Portland, Oregon-based BG Reynolds, one of the world's preeminent purveyors of handcrafted tropical syrups and flavoring bitters.
This educational seminar will focus on the history and cocktail application of tropical syrups -- from the proprietary elixirs and secret potions that tiki greats like Donn the Beachcomber to Trader Vic used -- to the works of modern tiki impresarios like Blair Reynolds. We'll learn what to look forward when selecting store-bought mixers for tiki cocktails, and when it may be better to make your own.
The class will include a tasting of some of BG Reynold's latest tropical syrups and will be followed by an informal tiki happy hour.
RSVP required. USBG Austin members free. Very limited seating available for non-members with a $10 donation to USBG Austin.
