Learn More About Education Reach for Texans

The mission of Education Reach is to empower Texans to champion postsecondary success for foster care alumni. By facilitating collaboration between the statewide child welfare partners and institutions of higher education, Education Reach aims to increase access to and success in college. The conference offers robust opportunities to engage directly with other professionals in developing and implementing promising practices to support student success.

Since our start in 2009 as a grassroots effort, Education Reach has been offering training and support for foster care liaisons and campus support programs at Texas public institutions of higher education so that students from foster care do not navigate this complex journey alone. We do this by:

  • Providing opportunities to network and connect with current support programs
  • Sharing best practices, legislative updates, and resources with our stakeholders
  • Developing trainings for foster care liaisons
  • Providing technical support and mentoring to new support programs
  • Advocating for trauma-informed practices and approaches to care
  • Advocating for additional resources to support post-secondary success.
