Education Game Design: How to Attract, Engage, and Convert Users

Are you interested in building an educational mobile app but don't know where to start? Come learn about best practices for creating a game that not only engages users, but also helps them learn something new.
Learn about basic principals of game design, what's happening in the industry, and what has and hasn't worked in education. You'll learn what gamification is and how it can help your user experience, the latest trends in gamificiation and game design, the basic principals of playful design, and how you can make your products and processes more engaging.
This class will be highly interactive and limited to 20 students to ensure that you have ample time to interact with the instructors and your peers.

As a former middle school teacher and later, director of cultural projects at SCVNGR, Kellian has substantial experience with accessing hard-to-engage audiences through games. Her projects include Murder at the Met (Mobile Web), the GoSmithsonian Trek (iOS and Android) and Agents of Change (iOS and web).
