Description

Part of the rich legacy of the AACSA's Juneteenth festivities is to provide "Education before the Celebration".

2017's Juneteenth will kick off by highlighting African American men and their families, just in time for Father's Day weekend.

The AACSA has partnered with educator, Dr. Khalid White & Blkmpwr (Black Empower), LLC. to debut the new documentary, Black Fatherhood: Trials & Tribulations, Testimony & Triumph, in the South Bay.

The feature-length documentary showcases several African American dads in the Bay Area recounting their experiences in fatherhood. Among the fathers featured is SJSU'S esteemed History Professor, Dr. Steven Millner.

Following the film, there will be an open dialogue about Black men, boys, and audience Q&A with the film's Co-stars and Executive Producer.

The event will take place Friday evening, June 16, 2017, at AACSA 304 N. 6th Street, San Jose, CA 95112.Doors open at 6:30 p.m. program starts at 7:00 p.m.
